Richard Vivian established Big Sky in 2002 as an acoustic consultancy, primarily specialising in the music and entertainment industry and offering a flexible approach to acoustic design and noise control.

He has previously worked for major international brand names including Celestion, Turbosound, Quested and Sega. He always combines disciplined engineering theory with practical skill and experience. Having pioneered precision measurement techniques as a product designer the move from research and development laboratory sound measurement to practical engineering noise measurement in the real world was an easy transition to make. His experience is extensive and he is been involved not just in commercial product design, but in the design, development and application of electro-acoustic systems at numerous venues throughout the world. In addition to his work in the fixed installation sector Richard is experienced in both live touring and recording studio engineering and has worked on many projects for major artists across the globe.

Richard Vivian has over two decades of electro-acoustic experience. A graduate in Electronic Systems Engineering at Kingston University, he is a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, a member of the Institute of Acoustics and a member of the Audio Engineering Society.
